History

The rubber mix Stealth Rubber is an innovation of the US sport shoe company Five Ten which was taken over by Adidas in 2011. The Scope is the first model with a Stealth sole and three stripes. Usually Adidas takes 18 months from the product idea to the introduction to the market. The development team of six took a whole two years to continually improve the shoe, for example during a mountain tour test with right-left comparison (the Scope on one foot, a reference model of the competition on the other foot). Product manager Andrej Zwer was in his office when he received an excited text message from the product developer: “I’m just hanging on the wall with the test crew … via ferrata… sensational performance of the Stealth sole, I even have both hands free to text!”

At the heart of the Scope is the Stealth Rubber sole. Thanks to that, and the elaborate design, we achieve an unbeatable degree of slip resistance and at the same time keep it light. Andrej Zwer,  product manager Adidas Outdoor

The Scope offers extremely great grip and supports the foot also during multiple-hour tours or hikes with a lot of luggage. You don’t have to think long where to set your foot.Jens Kohlmorgen, mountaineering experte Globetrotter Hamburg
